Rusty Trophies

Have you ever gone through your memory chest just to find an old rusty trophy?  Or maybe yours are on a shelf out in the garage?  At one time, it was your prized possession on display for the world to see your glorious victory (even if it was honorable mention in T-ball)!  Now it is just a memory collecting dust.

A trophy, victory, or success in this life, may bring about the praise of men temporarily, but is that what really matters?  The praise of men will leave you void and empty.  REAL fulfillment does not come from the praise of men but from pleasing our Heavenly Father.  "Whatever you are doing, work at it with enthusiasm, as to the Lord and not for people...,"  Colossians 3:23, NET.

"You’ve all been to the stadium and seen the athletes race. Everyone runs; one wins. Run to win. All good athletes train hard. They do it for a gold medal that tarnishes and fades. You’re after one that’s gold eternally,"  1 Corinthians 9:24-25, The Message.  God says that we are to run to win in the things that matter the most -- things that are eternal.  Run your race with patience and let your life bring glory to God!  Let the trophy room of your life be gloriously filled with trophies that will last for eternity!
