What's The Answer?

“I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior...." 1 Timothy 2:1-3

Almost 2,000 years ago, the Apostle Paul wrote this scripture to his son in the faith, Timothy. Timothy was left in Ephesus by Paul in 64 A.D. to oversee the church there. That same year, Rome burned and the great Christian persecution under Nero began.  It became so terrible, that historians say Nero actually had Christians dipped in oil and set on fire in his garden to light it at night! Now, you would think Paul would tell Timothy to rise up and overthrow the government, right? But instead, he instructs Timothy to pray for those in leadership so that we would have peace and freedom to continue to spread the Gospel.  The heart of the human problem throughout history has always been the problem of the human heart. We need to elect Godly men and women and pass Godly laws, but unless people’s hearts are changed, nothing changes.  Sinners sin because it is their fallen nature to sin. Did you know that it is illegal to murder in all 50 states?  Well, of course it is!  But people break that law all of the time.  So, is the answer more laws?

During the great Welsh revival of 1904-1905 in Wales, whole communities were turned upside down and were radically changed from depravity to glorious goodness. The crime rate dropped, almost to nothing.  The police force reported that they had little more to do than supervise the coming and going of the people to the chapel prayer meetings, while magistrates turned up at courts to discover no cases to try.  The bars and brothels closed down because there was no more business.  You see, communities were changed because people’s hearts were changed.  Over 150,000 people came to Christ and the nation was set on fire for God!

Has America had enough?  Have you had enough of dead, weak, anemic religion that changes nothing?  It’s time to preach, believe, proclaim, and honor the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ once again in the pulpits of this nation!  The answer is simply  Jesus Christ.  "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek,"  Romans 1:16.
