God's Fault, Or Not?

When I was young, my father and grandfather were in a terrible accident.  Everyone that passed by thought for sure they were dead.  The little yellow Datson pickup they were driving was demolished.  It would have been ignorant of anyone driving by the accident to ask,  "I wonder why Datson produced such an ugly wreck of a vehicle?"  Of course, we all know that when that pickup truck rolled off of the assembly line it didn't look that way.  No, it was in perfect condition -- it was "good."

Genesis 1 says that God created everything in perfection.  There was no death, no disease, no suffering. God said it was "good."   Genesis 1:28 says that God gave man dominion and authority over the creation of the earth.  Because there cannot be a loving relationship between anyone without the element of choice and free-will, God gave man a choice to love Him or not.  Genesis 3 shows us how man chose rebellion and therefore opened the door of sin and death for the world.  Romans 8:22 shows us that all of creation is "growning together" under the weight of the curse.  God made a perfect creation, but man had a devastating wreck!  Because God loved man so much, He made a way to fix man's sin problem.  He sent His only begotten Son (John 3:16, John 1:14).

Many people ask if God is so good, why does he cause so much death, suffering, disease, poverty, and destruction?  John 10:10 puts it rather simply..."The thief (satan) cometh not, but to steal, and to kill, and to destroy:  I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly."

Blaming God for trouble only separates us from Him.  We have to guard our hearts from this deception of the enemy.  Instead of blaming God for "wrecks" in our lives, we need to call on Him in our time of trouble.  He is the Healer, Restorer, Deliverer, Savior:  Giver of life and every good thing!  GOD IS THE ANSWER, NOT THE PROBLEM!  Call on Him and He will answer you.   "Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you," Jeremiah 29:12.  Let Him help you today. He loves you with an everlasting love and cares about every detail of your life.
