FAITH DOES NOT FAINT

One of my daughters recently rode a ride called "ROCK-O-PLANE" at the local theme park.  It has cages built for two and spins around like a ferris wheel while at the same time each individual cage is spinning.  It was fun until the end of the ride when they began to slowly unload all of the passengers.  The cage my daughter was in had her suspended upside down for a long period of time.  She was in alot of pain so she began to scream and cry for help!  She told me later that the blood had rushed to her head so terribly that she thought she would faint and pass out...and she is a very tough cookie!

Have you ever become so weary and exhausted that you thought you would faint?  No matter how tough we are, there are times when we face problems that are bigger than we are.  The psalmist David can relate.  He said, "I had fainted unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living," Psalm 27:13.  The psalmist was NOT saying "God, if you don't come through for me right now I'm going to faint, lose heart, and despair!"  He said, " I would have fainted, UNLESS I HAD BELIEVED,"  KJV2000.

So what is it, really, that keeps us from losing heart?  How do we keep from fainting when we are facing problems and feel like we are uncontrollably hanging upside down in life?   The answer is simple:  FAITH IN GOD.  Our confidence in our great God and His goodness has EVERYTHING to do with our victory in this life.  Other translations of this verse say, "I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living,"(NIV) and "I am certain that I will see the LORD's goodness in the land of the living," (HCSB).

The door to His blessing swings wide open on the hinges of faith.  Jesus said, "...All things are possible to him who believes," Mark 9:23.  The Lord is faithful to His Word and to His people.   "And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not,"  Galatians 6:9.  As we remain confident and certain in Him, we will experience the blessing of the Lord in this life...without fainting!
